The studio will be focused on developing unique living/working mobile units.Rethinking relationships of 21st century human being its personal space and the relationship with the urban environment.
Our goal here is to speculate on the idea of “Mobile city” and city metabolism. The studio will challenge students to “stop drawing dead fish”[1] and rather create interfaces which facilitate new forms of communication of ideas and research via the use of computational design.Students will be introduced to the use of complex systems, dynamics and behavioral modulation and their application for form-finding and generation of architectural proposals .
We are interested in investigating morphological possibilities of creating lightweight enclosures that will provide desired shelter and utilities for the active lifestyle of modern society. This structure can act as a person’s exoskeleton as well as agglomeration of aggregates within the existing structures and tissues.
We will be rethinking ways of representing mobility and openness as well as management of the settlement in the new coming era of digital natives.
Students will be asked to deal with one of the proposed targets that shares “mobility and flexibility” of their structure and behavior and at the same time opens various possibilities for the project/research development.
